Eavesdropper is a recently discovered mobile vulnerability that exposes sensitive corporate communications data.

It gives hackers access to hundreds of millions of enterprise calls, call recordings and text messages.

The vulnerability is due to a simple developer error - hardcoding their credentials in mobile apps using the Twilio Rest API and SDK. 
  • Nearly 700 apps are affected, over 170 are still live in app stores
  • Vulnerable Android apps alone have between 40 and 180 million installs
  • Even if the compromised apps are taken down from app stores, the data is still at risk until the developers take the proper actions
